Under 18 and wanting to learn how to paddle in a safe, fun environment! Why not enrol on our Junior Club beginner course and paddle every Tuesday over the summer.

Our Junior Club beginner courses are open to 8 - 17yr olds and are £75 (this includes membership for the year), and are run by our friendly qualified team.

They consist of formal and informal coaching at the Junior club sessions (every Tuesday from 6pm until 8pm over the spring and summer period) and follow the syllabus for the nationally-recognised British Canoeing Discover Award which will be awarded to the participant upon completion.

We recognise that set courses over specific time frames are not always the best approach for every child and so by offering our coached syllabus over a longer period, on a more informal basis, enables a wider age group and ability to join in.

And we don't stop there... as a club member you'll be able to carry on your paddling journey with free or at cost coaching to the next level.

All our junior team are enhanced DBS checked and hold relevant safeguarding qualifications. We always operate well within instructor/participant ratios and of course are qualified British Canoeing Awarding Body (BCAB) instructors, coaches and leaders.

If you can already paddle (at Discover award level or above) then you may just require an assessment. If so, please feel free to email paddle@maidstonecanoeclub.net and we can sort this out without booking on this course.
