October Pool Session

October 16th: On this day we solemnly remember the London Beer Flood [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Beer_Flood] in which 8 unfortunate souls lost their lives, and 1,470,000 litres of beer were tragically lost. That’s enough to fill the Cranbrook Pool more than five times over. If only they had kayaks and had practiced their braces.

Still, I can think of worse ways to go!

See you at the pool session!

Apocalypse Now or Pool Session?

On August 15th, 1979, Francis Ford Coppola’s seminal Vietnam movie Apocalypse Now opened in theatres. We’ll be recreating one of its iconic scenes at this month’s pool session by strapping speakers to our kayaks and blasting out Ride of the Valkyries. Here’s a reminder if you haven’t seen it for a while - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqtehtSB0LI

I will also email it to all current club members. Hopefully there will be some printed copies in the clubhouse for those who cannot access the e versions or just prefer a printed copy.
