Joss Bay Paddle & Picnic
Following recent government announcements we have renamed this event from "Joss Bay BBQ" to Joss Bay Paddle & Picnic, due to the recent extreme heat and drought please bring a Picnic with you instead of a BBQ if you were planing on one
After almost 8 years the Joss Bay Beach Party & Barbeque and peer paddle day is back!
This is an event for everyone and their families although juniors will not be able to paddle due to lack of a Sea Leader.
Play on the waves and surf or paddle across to the neighbouring Kingsgate bay and paddle under the arch (Sea conditions permitting)
All grade paddlers are welcome, Just bring a boat and your own food and drinks

When you arrive on the beach look out for the big Maidstone Canoe Club flags or the row of kayaks
Juniors welcome to join in the beach fun and picnic or bbq but there will be no Sea Leader available for them to paddle their kayaks with.
To be safe please stay within 200 Metres of shore in less then 1 knot of tide in less than force 4
A spring tide is due which means and very high and very low tide,

Low Tide: 07:43 - 0.8
High Tide: 13:50 - 4.8
Low Tide 20:09 - 0.6

( This trip is a Peer Paddle and NOT a coaches trip )
Disclaimer
All our trips are run by club members like you, and unless specifically described otherwise, they are peer paddles.
If you think that you would benefit from the support of a formal river leader or coach, please contact the trip organiser in advance - we can usually arrange something! Otherwise you should be confident that your own ability matches the trip as planned.
If your trip is being led by someone, a more experienced paddler, river leader, or a coach - it is your responsibility to mention any medical or other issues which may arise during the trip.
